Cancelling, refunds and your data
Updated 7 September 2026·4 min read
You can cancel whenever you like and keep what you have paid for until the end of the period. Nothing is deleted when you do.
Cancel where you subscribed
If you subscribed in the iOS app, cancel through Apple
Apple takes the payment for anything bought inside an app, so only Apple can stop it. Cancelling in Settings on your iPhone is the one that works; we cannot end an App Store subscription for you, and turning something off in Financial IQ will not stop Apple billing you.
If you subscribed on the website, cancel on the website and it stops there.
What happens afterwards
Your books stay readable
A cancelled company can still be opened and read. You cannot post anything new to it, but nothing is taken away and nothing is hidden.
Personal drops to the free tier
Your accounts, goals and history stay. The bank connection is the part that stops, because that is the part that costs money every month.
You can come back
Subscribe again and everything picks up where it was. There is no fresh start to suffer through.
Refunds
Cancel within 14 days of subscribing and we refund it in full. After that you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. If you bought through the App Store, refunds are Apple's to give and you ask them.
Getting your data out, or deleted
Export what you want first, because deletion is not something we can undo for you. Ask through the contact form and your account and its data are deleted within 30 days.
Some records we have to keep
Accounting and tax records have retention periods set by law, and a deletion request does not override them. We will tell you plainly what has to stay, for how long, and why, rather than quietly keeping it.
