Why we exist

The industry profits from your confusion.

Complex jargon, opaque products and intimidating interfaces keep people dependent on professionals for decisions they could make themselves, if only somebody explained things properly. That is not an accident. It is a business model.

Our test for every feature: does this help someone understand their money better?

Not “does it look impressive”, and not “does it drive engagement”. If a screen leaves somebody knowing more than they did, it ships. If it leaves them dependent on us, it does not.

01
Clarity over complexity

Show the number that matters first. Detail is available, not default. No jargon, ever, and if an accounting concept has to appear it gets explained inline, in plain English, at the point it appears.

02
Truth before theatre

Every important number is traceable. When something is an estimate we say so. Discrepancies get surfaced rather than hidden, and nothing is inflated to make anyone feel good about themselves.

03
Seamless, not effortful

If data can load itself, it loads itself. If the system already knows something, you should not be typing it. The work belongs to the software.

04
Education through use

The lesson arrives at the decision, not in a course you will never finish. Offered, never imposed, and it stops offering once you have it.

05
Your way, not our way

Personal finance is personal. Several budgeting methods, no moralising about spending, and configuration that adapts to you rather than the other way round.

06
Connected, not siloed

Business and personal finances are one financial life, and we treat them that way. Almost everything else about this product follows from that sentence.

They are in priority order. When two of them conflict, which happens more often than a values page usually admits, the higher one wins. That is what makes them useful internally rather than decorative.

Where we draw the line

What we will not do.

We will not tell you what to do with your money

We are not regulated financial advisers and we are not going to behave as though we were. We show you what is true, what changed, and what the consequence is. The decision stays yours, and for anything complex a professional is still worth paying.

We will not moralise about your spending

No shaming, no red warnings because you bought something nice. Context and arithmetic, not judgement. You are an adult with your own priorities and the software does not get a vote on them.

We will not make ourselves indispensable

Once you understand something, we stop explaining it. If you want to leave, your data goes with you. A product that traps you is a product that has stopped earning you, and building for lock-in would contradict the reason we exist.
